Sunshine Meeting 1

SANTA ANA—Related California hosted the first of two community information sessions known as “Sunshine Meetings” on Sept. 7, 2022, to introduce Related Bristol, a highly-walkable, mixed-use urban village proposed for a 41-acre site on South Bristol Street across from South Coast Plaza.

More than 200 area residents, business owners, community stakeholders and city officials attended the open house-style meeting held at Saddleback High School not far from the proposed project site where developer Related California hopes to build up to 3,750 residential units, 250 hotel rooms, 200 units of senior assisted living and 350,000 square feet of retail and restaurants uses. In addition, the community as planned will have 13 acres of programmed open spaces connected by a network of landscaped paseos and pedestrian-friendly pathways.

Nearly two dozen Related Bristol team members including executives, land planners and architects greeted visitors at the public meeting to explain the vision and features of this unique community that Related believes will become a new destination for connection and culture in south Santa Ana. Located between Sunflower Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard, the Related Bristol development ultimately would replace the aging 50-year-old shopping center which currently spans nearly two city blocks. Project team members provided details about the proposed development and answered questions from those viewing topic boards and large-scale physical maps of the project site.

The meeting was held in accordance with the City of Santa Ana’s Sunshine Ordinance.
